Why a log home?
450% growth in past 8 years: The increased popularity of log homes makes one a secure investment.
Resale Value: Due to increased popularity and lack of available resales, your log home could be more valuable than a conventional home of comparable size.
Back to Nature: Log homes offer an attractive alternative lifestyle and at less cost than conventional housing.
Structural strength: Log homes, pound for pound, are stronger than steel.
Why a log home from Ridgways?
Energy Efficient: 8 inch thick logs offer more insulation than brick or conventional frame homes.
Cost Effectiveness: Ridgways Log Homes can be built for as much as one third less than a conventional house.
Versatility: Ridgways Log Homes designs fit in nicely with any setting.
Flexibility: You may choose from existing designs or design your own home. We can handle it.
Delivery: Thirty days on existing designs.
Rustic Beauty: Each of Ridgways Log Homes home models will blend harmoniously with your natural site selection---woodlands, lake or mountainside.
Easy Erection and Better Weather Sealing: Lincoln Logs International's homes feature uniform logs, with machine-cut horizontal surfaces and corner joints. The unique, uniform Lincoln Logs go up more quickly than other log homes, resulting in a better weather seal. Some models can be erected by three or four men in as little as four or five days.
Maintenance Free: On your low maintenance Lincoln Log Home you should use an exterior preservative. The logs weather naturally. There is no outside painting, scraping, priming or repair required, though a wide variety of stain colors are available for those who prefer them.
Craftmanship: Lincoln Logs International's homes feature uniform cut logs with corner joints and matching surfaces. You will not see exposed grooves on the corners of your Lincoln Logs home. The early settlers were proud of their workmanship and you can be proud of your Lincoln Logs International home, knowing it is the best available.
Ease of Construction: It's remarkably easy to bring a Lincoln Logs International home to the "in the dry," or "roughed in" stage.
First: Foundation - A Lincoln Logs International home can be erected on a pier, slab, crawl space, or a full basement, foundation.
Second: Each successive course of logs are stacked up, one course on top of the other. Each log arrives numbered to directly correspond to the accompanying blueprints and log stack sheets. The neatly cut ends and tight joints make it nearly impossible for any trace of weather to creep inside.
Third: Roof trusses or rafters are installed.
Fourth: Roofing, windows, and doors are installed. The home is now completely "in the dry" and ready for interior finishing. For the average Lincoln Logs International home, this procedure takes approximately two to three weeks.
Once "in the dry," interior work can proceed on a timely basis without the threat of inclement weather causing delays.
